Project Scope:

Tritech was appointed as the electrical services contractor for this 3MW facility, which comprises dedicated MV switchgear, MV generators, UPS and LV strings, CRACs, and AHU's used for mechanical cooling of the white space.

Client vision/objectives:

The client's vision was to create a state-of-the-art data centre that would meet their current and future needs, providing a robust and reliable electrical infrastructure. They understood the importance of having a solid foundation for their operations and committed to ensuring their data centre would never experience any downtime or power outages. They wanted to build a facility that could handle even the most demanding workloads with ease. This project was not just about building a data centre; it was about building a legacy. They wanted to create a facility that would be admired and emulated by others in the industry and become a benchmark for excellence.

Unique challenges of the project:

From the outset, it was apparent that the Global Services Data Centre project would require meticulous engineering scrutiny. Tritech recognised early intervention would be crucial to ensure successful delivery. During the conditional survey of the existing infrastructure, it was evident that the current support infrastructure was not sufficient to withstand the proposed containment system loadings. To overcome the infrastructural challenge, Tritech's team devised a bespoke structural support system utilising a gripple solution. This innovative approach allowed us to design and implement a robust support infrastructure that could withstand the increased loadings required by the containment system. By addressing this critical element early on, Tritech avoided potential delays and setbacks later in the project.

Tritech Methods/Innovations:

Collaboration played a pivotal role in the successful execution of the project. All stakeholders, including Tritech's team, the client, architects, M&E consultants, project managers, and subcontractors, worked together seamlessly to navigate through the various obstacles. Despite material delays, scope changes, and unexpected events, Tritech's project team remained proactive and committed to delivering results within the allocated time frame.

Through unwavering persistence and commitment, this phase of Global Services Data Centre project achieved exceptional results. This particular element of the contract included the installation of an impressive 35 kilometres of cable, 32 ATS units, 2.5 kilometres of 1200 ladder, MV/LV Main and sub-distribution systems with full backup power infrastructure, the data centre now boasts a robust electrical infrastructure capable of accommodating the client's current and future needs.
