Capital Dock is one of the largest, single-phase mixed-use developments ever built in Ireland, extending over 4.8 acres with more than 690,000 sq.ft of gross space, creating a dynamic new urban quarter in Dublin. Tritech delivered the mechanical services to 190 high-quality multi-family units across three buildings, one of which is a 70-meter high, 23 story tower marking the gateway to the city. The scope included amenities such as a cinema and leisure centre.
In 2019, Capital Dock was awarded Residential Project of the Year at the Irish Construction Industry Awards; Building of the Year at the Building and Architect of the Year Awards; and Housing Project of the Year at the Irish Building & Design Awards. In 2020, the project won Large Residential Project of the Year at the Irish Construction Excellence awards.
Our client wanted to create a visionary urban quarter that brings fresh cultural and commercial energy to the heart of Dublin Docklands.
Unique challenges of the project:
The site had multiple contractors working across the residential and commercial areas that needed to collaborate daily to achieve maintain the safety culture objectives on a busy site with restricted access, water on three sides and considerable working at heights risk.
Sisk management team encouraged a culture of collaboration and co-operation from the outset. This culture was pivotal in getting the job handed over with success.
