Metec Consulting Engineers
Tritech Engineering were appointed the electrical and mechanical services contract for the fit out of Condor House and Harrier House for DNATA. DNATA are one of the world's largest air service providers and are part of the Emirates Group. The new catering facility comprises industrial-sized kitchen, food prep and assembly areas, together with storage. Globally, DNATA prepares more than 320,000 meals every day for more than 190 airlines and has been awarded Best Caterer by some of the world’s leading airlines. The scope of work included interior alteration and joining of 2 no industrial units via a new link structure to create 80,000 square foot production facility with new clean rooms for Food production, refrigeration & large freezer areas, administration and welfare areas, interior fitout, new car park, full MEP installation, ICT structured cable systems, CCTV, access control, new sub distribution boards and a generator which connected into the off-loader in the MV switch room.
The client had secured a new airline global partner and required the facility to be fully operational and snag free by a milestone date.
Unique challenges of the project:
The fast track programme requirements required each element to be stress tested in terms of procurement, lead times, design team decision making, etc to ensure all aspects of the project were delivered by the client committed dates.
Tritech’s management team continually communicated with both the main contractor and the client's management team to ensure all integrating services were completed without incident. The extent of existing services required detailed survey & coordination to ensure full design compliance.
