What we’ve come to realise, seeing our people at Tritech grow, progress and find success, is that most people aren’t just looking for a job. What they really want is purpose, in the form of a career that gives them more meaning, and more opportunities for the future. Which is why we thrive to offer apprenticeships at Tritech Engineering.
Tritech Academy
Our most valuable asset is our people, and we are constantly recruiting new talent. With this in mind, we looked at the place where most people start their careers in construction and engineering – as an apprentice – and we established the Tritech Academy, to give people the proper foundations to realise their potential. From the moment our apprentices begin, we continually track their progress and development. We help them improve their skills, and mentor each individual on their path to becoming better qualified and more expert in their trade.
What is a typical day like for a Tritech apprentice?
The truth is that there is no such thing as a standard day for our apprentices at Tritech. While some first years may tell stories of spending endless days sweeping floors or making the tea, every day is not only different at Tritech, it’s about learning and building a career – right from day one. Our apprentices get hands-on experience from the very start, learning how to support and assist our qualified engineers, electricians or plumbers on live jobs. On a week-to-week basis, Tritech apprentices are instructed on new skills and procedures, while improving their soft skills in timekeeping, communication and teamwork.
The future of engineering is sustainable
The future of building services lies in optimising the performance of buildings. The single biggest key to achieving this is improving their energy efficiency. With the world focus on reducing carbon emissions and promoting sustainability, green engineering is at the very core of our business. By starting their careers at Tritech, our apprentices make themselves a valuable part of the solution to tackling the challenges of climate change and securing the future.
Wordskills Ireland Award-winning apprentices!
Worldskills Ireland is a programme that raises awareness and recognition of skills and apprenticeships and helps to prepare the workforce of the future. In 2022, four of our apprentices were invited to the Worldskills Ireland event at Dublin’s RDS where Gareth Mullen was awarded Construction Apprentice of the Year in the plumbing category.
Opportunities for qualified apprentices
The opportunities are numerous and varied for qualified apprentices, both here in Ireland and abroad. The skills and expertise our apprentices gain really do translate to countries all over the world.
