Project Scope:

Tritech were awarded the mechanical services contract associated with the fitout of a Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. The mechanical scope included the decommissioning & removal of existing services, hot tap connections into live LTHW & CHS services. Alterations to water, S&W, medical gases, ventilation, and air conditioning services.

Client vision/objectives:

The Cardiology Department at St James’s Hospital has developed into a leading Irish cardiology centre that influences policy and practice by way of innovation and example. Our client was looking for an installation that compliments the excellence in treatment and prevention of heart disease practiced in this department.

Unique challenges of the project:

The project was delivered as an essential services project in the fight against COVID-19. Works Commenced in March 2021 and was delivered on programme in June 2021. This project was delivered in a live hospital environment with a detailed level of coordination daily with the site facilities personnel & management.

Tritech Methods/Innovations:

Tritech’s management team maintained open lines of communication with both the main contractor and the clients representative to ensure the daily operations of the hospital were not affected. The extent of existing services required detailed coordination to ensure the design objectives were achieved.
