Project Scope:
The HSE appointed Tritech Group as Main Contractor for a complete refurbishment of the Annex building. This 3-story listed building required extensive upgrade works to meet current fire regulations and HSE guidelines. The project consists of 12 wards (48 bed), HTM compliant en-suites bathrooms, staff facilities, office & storage facilities.
Client vision/objectives:
The client objective was to increase the HSE’s bed capacity in the shortest duration possible while ensuring the quality standards of the works were maintained.
Unique challenges of the project:
The project was delivered as an essential services project in the fight against COVID-19. Works Commenced in August 2020 and was delivered on programme in November 2020. The health and safety management were a unique challenge as we required large numbers of personnel on site at a time when covid community transmission rates were high.
Tritech Methods/Innovations:
The fast-track nature of this project meant that the construction phase and design phase commenced simultaneously. Tritech management team communicated the design deliverables to ensure we could manage the procurement of long lead items while progressing essential site elements to ensure the programme critical path was maintained.
