Project Scope:
Tritech Engineering was appointed the mechanical services contract for the fit-out of the Kings Building, 152-155 Church Street, Dublin 7. This project consisted of the fit-out of office space on the ground, fourth, fifth, & sixth floors. The project was delivered in 2 phases, with phase 1 fast-tracked to deliver 80% of the contract in 12 weeks. Mechanical services installation included new and relocation of existing Fan Coil Units, CHW & LTHW piped services, condensate pipework, close control units to the communications room & tech rooms, services to ground floor showers & micro kitchens, heat recovery ventilation to all office floors, utility tie-ins, BMS controls, and lead coordinator for all specialist services.
Client vision/objectives:
The client wanted to achieve a high acoustic performance, and therefore the performance of the air systems was critical.
Unique challenges of the project:
The existing shell and core and CAT A fit-out required extensive alteration to supplement more air to the floor plate and inlet acoustic attenuation to all new and existing Fan Coil Units.
Tritech Methods/Innovations:
We engaged an acoustic specialist to measure the attenuation performance of a number of attenuators types to ensure the selection delivered on the acoustic performance required and reduce the coordination implications with the introduction of attenuation to every existing FCU.
